What Are Some Great Black And White Comics?
I want to know some really good black and white comics with great art. I prefer fantasy themes over modern themes. I like the Sin City comics even though they are a modern theme. I have been trying to find a list of great black and white comics but cannot find one. If you know of a list or have any recommendations, please share this with me. Thanks!

How to Be a Working Comic: An Insider’s Guide to a Career in Stand-Up Comedy
From Library Journal
Schwensen, former talent coordinator for A&E’s An Evening at the Improv, reminds us that comedy is a business and provides specific and useful advice on basic issues such as headshots, resumes, and agents. While Schwensen sensibly advises novices to be original and to work steadily at stage time, Jay Sankey’s Zen and the Art of Stand-Up Comedy (LJ 5/1/98) offers much more on the craft of performance. Nearly half of this book is devoted to brief interviews with 12 top comedians (e.g., Drew Carey, Rhonda Shear, and Rene Hicks). While Jeff Dunham observes that “comedy has taken such a nose-dive,” Schwensen does not otherwise acknowledge that comedians face a shrinking stand-up industry. For strong performing arts collections.?Norman Oder, “Library Journal”Copyright 1998 Reed Business Information, Inc.

The Best American Comics 2008
From Publishers Weekly
Starred Review. The focus of this collection is not on any particular genre or style, but on stylistic and storytelling variety. There are slice-of-life stories, historical drama, humor, political satire, absurdist fables, serious autobiography and lighthearted ramblings. The art styles range from the tight, realistic precision of Jason Lute’s Berlin to the raw style of John Mejia’s vignettes of life as a public school art teacher. With each story the reader is drawn into a different world or presented with another perspective of the same world. Yet despite the variety of the stories, they join as a display of the power of comics as a means of storytelling that can concisely present some aspect of human nature so the reader can digest it, contemplate it and, perhaps, understand it, as Barry, this edition’s editor, suggests in her introduction. The variety conveys the continued growth of comics as a means of storytelling, growth brought about by a … Read more…
